Welcome to Compound Light Microscope
Saturday, September 20th, 2008Welcome to Compound Light Microscope website where you will find a great selection of these high power microscopes. Browse our online microscope store and you will find models in monocular, binocular, and trinocular versions. What is a compound light microscope? First of all, it derives its name from the compounding of the microscope lens. It has a lens in the microscope objective that picks up the image.
This image has its magnification compounded again by the eyepiece lens. These types of microscopes are used for viewing biological specimens on slides under high power magnification. Their application ranges from use in schools for studying biological sciences, medical diagnostics in a clinical blood and pathology laboratory, and in research into microbiology.
The typical compound microscope uses brightfield illumination, transmitting the light through the specimen on the slide. The microscope bulb is located in the base of the scope. It is usually halogen as that gives a high intensity illumination. However, some bulbs in the more inexpensive systems are simple incandescent. We can provide a wide range of these compound light microscopes for most any application. Please give us a call today to discuss your particular microscopy application and how we have the right compound light microscope for your needs.
